Can gravitational vacuum condensate stars be a dark energy source?

Abstract Gravitational vacuum condensate stars, also known as gravastars, have been proposed an alternative to black holes. Their interior contains a perfect fluid with equation of state akin that cosmological constant. For this reason, they recently considered possible astrophysical source dark energy. In work we argue gravitational stars cannot be the energy and highlight direct coupling their mass dynamics Universe would lead additional velocity dependent acceleration, damping motion respect frame. We briefly discuss potential impact acceleration in context recent proposal observed growth compact objects at core elliptical galaxies might result from such coupling.
